I’ve recently had the idea to get my grandfather to teach a sign hand lettering class. It’s a dying art form and I think there would be a great interest in it somewhere.
So, I just found this video/short documentary online and now I want to make him teach the class (and me!) even more.

Looking Glass Rock / Pisgah National Forest
Spring is finally here and with its return, I return to my Sunday strolls in a new location. I’ve been on some really great short hikes with friends but this was my first chance to get out alone; to explore, think, sit, sleep, or whatever I felt like. I’ve found these outings to be like big ‘reset’ buttons for my head. Every breath in reminds me why I left Florida, and as much as I miss friends there, there’s just something so comfortable about sitting by a creek in the woods. The constant rush of water over rocks and sunlight through trees is my natural high.
It’s shaping up to be a great season of getting out alone and thus solidifying the disgust of my own dependence on modern society.

With a little help from friends here in Asheville, I was directed to the solo work of Tyler Ramsey. I keep humming this song to myself and think it’s worth passing along. I hear he lives(ed) in Asheville and has/is toured/touring with Band of Horses.
